About Us

Founded in 2019 during a research project on female genital mutilation in West Africa, BNB has since grown into an expanding network of skateboarders and volunteers, with major projects in Sierra Leone and a presence in Senegal, Ghana and the DRC. Our mission is to support skateboard development in underserved communities while fostering community empowerment beyond skateboarding.

Our Projects

In late 2023, we collaborated with local stakeholders to construct phase one of our skatepark in Makomp, Sierra Leone, marking the country’s first such facility. This project provides a safe space for youth, both male and female, to participate in previously inaccessible activities, fostering sports practice and social interaction. Moving into 2024, we’re advancing into phase two, transforming the site into a vibrant community center.
